In a recent blog post, Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s webspam team declared, “stick a fork in it, guest blogging is done!” and what many people had thought was coming for a long time was official. Spam has simply overwhelmed good content lately.
I know what some of you might be thinking, “so Matt, pretty terrible timing on your latest ‘guest blog’ idea huh?” Clever one reader, but I view it as the perfect time to reaffirm what we are about over here at Found. Found has never been about taking short cuts, the easy way out, or getting to the top by any means necessary. We are family first.
So how does your blog fit into that, Matt?
Well I am glad you asked that, reader. Our guest blog is a community sounding board. It is our acceptance that the people that make up the Found Media Group team don’t know everything, but collectively as a Found Family we sure do know a lot!
With that in mind, the Found Team and the Found Family will be collaborating on a blog in 2014. The Team are those in house at Found HQ who will be in the mix all of the time.
…Who is the Family you ask? You just keep them coming, don’t you? The Family is those we interact with as a company. Clients, friends, even parents sometimes (shout out to my dad’s guest post coming up soon!) will be contributing to this work.
There are three themes that all of the blog posts will fit into for the year and they are:
- The Filament. How You, Your Vision and Your Company Need to be Unified.
- The Long Winding Road. Tips and Advice on How to Stay Ahead of the Marketing Curve.
- Found Family Focus. Social Good, Community Building, and Where We Can Go if We Collaborate.
I really want this to showcase the different people, their style of thinking, and how it all works together to make this awesome framework that our community is.
Stay tuned, read up, and I hope that you find the Found blog to be something you add to your reading calendar every Tuesday and Thursday!
