The Found story begins in Austin, Texas, but this past weekend it traveled across the country in the form of a road trip to Nashville, Tennessee where Found had its first company retreat. The idea behind the retreat was to revisit what Found was all about in the wake of our growth and expansion (including the appointment of our new Vice President of Operations, Alanna) and prepare for the future.
Our road trip was fueled by cans of Monster, a much-needed stop at Dairy Queen and learning that we were peasants in King Chevy’s palace (Chevy is the Found dog and his palace was the entire car). Upon arriving in Nashville, we were greeted by Found’s new friend, Willy, who would be helping us during the weekend in revamping our vision and mission statements as well as working on other smaller projects, such as on-going changes to our website.
Throughout the work sessions, we realized that we all had one thing in common when it came to Found: we wanted to light the road for our clients. The themes we kept coming back to as we brainstormed centered around our clients having trust in us to go above and beyond, but also becoming more than just clients; instead being treated as part of our Found family. We each had a desire to strive for improvement in how we work and in what we do. We realized we shared the entrepreneurial spirit of our clients and wanted to ensure that were working to help their vision come to light and in turn do the same for Found. Ultimately, we saw that we want to help our clients build and grow into complete brands, something that we also hope for ourselves.
It’s pretty crazy to think that in just April, the Found core team was sitting down in an empty classroom at St. Edward’s University, trying to figure out exactly what we were building. Flash forward to the same people sitting down in Nashville only a few months later, continuing to build on the foundation from before. It is a testament to our work ethic and will power that we now are expanding our Found Family.
We look forward to continuing to share our progress with you. Let’s keep lighting the road, y’all.
P.S. Special shoutout to Willy for housing us and to Chevy for filling the room with such delightful odors.
